Getting started

What is MEDLEE?

MEDLEE is a medical concierge platform that connects hospitals in Korea with trained professionals who guide international patients through the entire care journey — from first consultation to aftercare. We go beyond translation to cover language, culture, and patient care.

How is this different from a regular interpreter service?

A typical interpreter only translates words. A MEDLEE concierge is trained to manage the full patient experience — appointment coordination, cultural context, hospital navigation, and follow-up — so patients feel cared for, not just understood.

Which languages and countries do you support?

We currently support 13 languages: Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Mongolian, English, Russian, Thai, Indonesian, Filipino, Burmese, Khmer, Uzbek, and Korean.

How much does MEDLEE cost?

During early access there are no matching fees. Hospitals set the hourly rate, and concierge experts receive that rate in full. Any future pricing changes will always be announced in advance.

For hospital partners

How do we register our hospital?

Create a hospital partner account, then upload your business license PDF. Our team reviews it and verifies your hospital — usually within 18 hours, and 24 hours at most.

How does talent matching work?

Once verified, you post a request with the language, schedule, region, and hourly rate you need. We recommend concierge experts matched to your department and patient nationality, and you confirm the best fit.

Can we talk to the concierge before confirming?

Yes. You can chat 1:1 with applicants before confirming a match, so you can check the fit first. Personal contact details stay masked until a match is confirmed.

What can a concierge help with beyond the consultation?

Airport pickup, accommodation guidance, hospital navigation, follow-up care coordination, and international patient marketing support — the full patient journey, not just the appointment.

For concierge experts

Who can apply as a concierge expert?

Anyone eligible to work in Korea with strong language skills and a passion for patient care. After signing up, you upload your ID/passport and visa documents for verification before joining the matching pool.

What training will I receive?

Through MEDLEE Academy, you're trained in medical concierge skills, patient care protocols, and hospital marketing fundamentals — so you grow into a patient care expert, not just an interpreter.

How and when do I get paid?

You receive the full hourly rate set by the hospital. After a matching is completed, settlement begins and you can track the payout status — gross, withholding, and net — right in your dashboard.

What's the difference between an interpreter and a concierge expert?

An interpreter is judged on words. A concierge expert is valued for the whole experience — and earns premium hospital partnerships through excellent reviews and verified competency.

Trust & safety

How is concierge competency verified?

Identity verification is the baseline. Talent must also complete training and pass practical simulation assessments before going active, and a dedicated MEDLEE manager oversees quality throughout.

How is my personal information protected?

Before a match is confirmed, phone numbers and emails in chat are automatically masked, so you communicate safely in-platform. Contact details are shared only after both sides confirm.

How does the review system work?

After each completed matching, hospitals and experts leave a two-way review across accuracy, attitude, and punctuality. These reviews continuously raise quality and inform future matches.

What happens if there's a problem with a matching?

Chat history is retained for dispute resolution, and your dedicated manager helps mediate. Repeated no-shows or policy violations can lead to restricted access for either side.
